About Jennifer
From Struggle to Strength
My professor pointed out that while I was always in class, engaged, and submitted my work on time, I struggled with tests. He explained that my test results didn’t truly reflect what I knew. I was shocked. I thought to myself, I’m not stupid!
Strength-BasedÂ
Â
For most of my academic life, I believed I wasn’t smart enough or good enough to be called on by a teacher. My professor showed me a whole new way of seeing myself as a learner. Â
Â
Social Pressure
Â
Along with my self-doubt, I carried the weight of teen social pressures into adulthood—fear, insecurity, and a sense of unease. Add my learning struggles, and I knew I wanted to be the teacher I never had. I wanted to show kids and teens their true worth, helping them feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are.
Childhood Traumas Don’t Disappear in Adulthood
Â
I’ve grown into a lifelong learner and became the teacher I always wanted to be. As a New Jersey Honored Educator, I was named County Teacher of the Year and a State Teacher of the Year finalist.
Now, I teach students, parents, and teachers how to tune in to their needs—both academic and emotional—so they can handle whatever life and learning bring.
If we don’t address small issues early, we’re not ready for the big ones.
Kids deserve to feel well and whole. So do their parents and teachers.
Â
Self-Care First
Â
When parents and teachers take the time to tune in, they approach challenges with more clarity and create a more productive environment for everyone.
Childhood traumas don’t vanish in adulthood; they stay in the nervous system and can show up in parenting and teaching styles—whether it’s being too strict, too distant, too lenient, or overcompensating with affection. As an educator, I’ve seen it all. As a parent, I’ve been there too.
The reality is that stress and anxiety in students are growing issues in education. Students are trusting themselves less, struggling with resilience, and finding it harder to cope with even small disruptions. The same overwhelming pressures are felt by families and educators alike.
I’m here to help.
